in un’intervista in cui ha rivelato di aver cominciato da giovane a studiare le discipline marziali perché si sentiva minacciato per il proprio orientamento sessuale. Nella Nba di basket fece scalpore il caso dell'ex star John Amaechi has become the first professional basketball player to reveal to be gay. Amaechi, orgini of English, has played for five NBA seasons and is the author of the autobiographical book "Man in the Middle." Martina Navratilova, the most famous gay sports in the world, has publicly applauded the courage of Amaechi, who reported that he was often the target of insults and discrimination by some mates and his coach. In Beijing, however, there was the first "coming out" by the Olympic diver Matthew Mitcham, Australian 20 year old: "My friends know, I'm not stupid. For me there is a problem, I hope not for others. "
